Bedard, Mariners Close On Deal

Eric Bedard and Seattle are close to finalizing a one-year deal. Bedard will still need to take a physical, which will be an issue for him.

Analysis:

If healthy (huge “if”), Bedard can have plenty of value in Seattle. His signing will really hurt Doug Fister’s chances of making the rotation.
