First Baseman Ryan Garko has agreed to a one-year contract with the Seattle Mariners for $550,000. Garko was signed so the Mariners could address their need for a right-handed hitter. Garko, previously with the San Francisco Giants and Cleveland Indians, hit .251 with 15 HRs and 63 RBIs during the 2009 season. It is not know how he will play into fantasy drafts this season, but he could play at 1B in relief of newly signed Casey Kotchman and act as a DH when there is a left-handed pitcher on the mound.
