In addition to the health issues surrounding the team, the Mets are dealing with an uncertain bullpen. Manager Jerry Manuel has thought about using top prospect Jenrry Mejia as the 8th inning man, bridging to Francisco Rodriguez.
Analysis:
Mejia is an interesting prospect and could provide value out of the pen, similar to what Joba Chamberlain did for the Yankees; he also could be sent to the minors to continue his development as a SP. Other than K-Rod, he is the only one in the Mets bullpen with any value. He is a solid pick in leagues that pick minor league players. Otherwise, do not draft him until the Mets announce their plans for him.
