Jose Reyes will be inactive for at least two weeks because of his thyroid. However, that period of inactivity could be stretched to eight weeks and there is a chance that he won’t play a regular season game until May.
Analysis:
This drops Reyes down a lot. Because there is also a chance of more complications, it’s hard to predict him to get more than 500 at-bats this year. Best case scenario is that he misses just a couple weeks of the season and gets 550+ at-bats but you can’t count on it. Missing Reyes and Beltran makes the Mets lineup pretty weak in April.
