PROJECTIONS UPDATED — 3/10/2010
No one has the time it takes to devote to being a real fantasy baseball competitor. Most of you have full-time jobs already… you don’t need another one. That’s why we’re here. Our projections are the BEST IN THE INDUSTRY, bar none, and we’ve helped THOUSANDS of other fantasy baseball players win championships… so why not you??? It’s the best value on the net; it’s the best bang for your buck. Why trust your fantasy baseball needs to anyone else?
FantasyBaseball.com is proud to bring you projections from Chris “The Big Dawg” McDonnell for the second season. Chris is a well-decorated veteran of fantasy baseball and has participated in expert leagues such as Tout Wars, Krause Publications and Fantasy Sports Invitational Challenge, where he has twice been their NL-Only Champion.
Chris has been publishing projections since 2004 when he started BigDawgBaseball.com. In 2009 he merged his work with FantasyBaseball.com. His pre-season projections have helped thousands of owners to win their leagues over the past six years.
This year Chris has projected statistics and dollar values for over 1000 players. 1000s of hours are put into his projections from the end of October until the end of March. The best thing about purchasing these projections is that they will be updated frequently throughout the winter and spring. Updates will occur every two weeks during January and February and every week during March.
Chris’ projections combine a lot of proven projection-related concepts into one package. He factors in several indicator statistics such as walk rate, strikeout rate, BABIP, GB/FB ratio etc. He also looks deeply into each player’s individual situation – age, expected role, surrounding teammates and ballpark, and previous history. Finally, he uses some concepts from Art McGee’s “How To Value Players For Rotisserie Baseball” book to give them final dollar values.
The projections at FantasyBaseball.com will work well for any owner because they are flexible for different types of league and updated to meet the needs of early and late drafters. So sign up now and let FantasyBaseball.com help you WIN YOUR LEAGUE!

why can I not get the projections–I just renewed my account. I DO NOT have WinZip. Must I buy it too?
I cannot locate the projections. I am logged in and renewed. Please advise.
Boxscorechamp – I don’t know for sure if Winzip is your problem, but if it is – you can download a free version from plenty of sites. Try that and see if it works.
Dick,
If you click right on the word projections on the top toolbar it should take you to the link for them. I just tried it and it worked for me. If this doesn’t work for you, double check and make sure that you actually signed up for them this off-season. If you still can’t get them, email me (fredzinkie@yahoo.com) and I will help you out.
I’ve tried linking from the headline and nothing happens…
I just tried linking to the projections from several pages and the link seems to be working fine now.
i purchased the magazine, fantasybaseball, and it usually comes with a free online cheatsheet update, near draft time. i do not see the update in the magazine, eg, code words. is it an additional payment for the update?
Hi Dan, I don’t think the magazine you purchased is connected with this site – we are online only and do not do a print magazine. We have cheat sheets, projections, top 200 etc. if you would like to purchase them from us. They are updated every two weeks in February and every week in March.
I purchased the $19.95 package but cannot download cheatsheets, projections, AVC or the top 200. I can download an alphabetized list of pitchers and hitters. What’s up? I see alot of people are having the same problem. I’m glad my draft isn’t for a couple weeks
Hi Bill – I just checked them and they seem to be working fine. Try once more and if they still don’t work email me (fredzinkie@yahoo.com) and I will help you out.
Fred,
My league uses TB instead of runs, how much change would there be in the top 200 rankings? We found that runs really is not the best cat in 5 by 5.
Substituting TB for Runs would swing the value pendulum away from the Ichiros and the Jose Reyes-type players and give more value to the power guys with higher slugging percentages. It would actually have a larger impact than you might think. Stolen base-Run category guys would be about as valuable as closers in 5×5 play.
How do you use AVC? I have downloaded it, enabled maros and filled all the fields. Yet, I get no results inprojections?????
Hi Bill – Instructions would be too long to put here if you are having troubles. Email me at fredzinkie@yahoo.com and I will get you all set up!
I have reviewed the new summaries of the projection spreadsheets and I am confused. When I look at the outfielder summary the total points and dollar values don’t seem to match. For example Ellsbury has 566 points and a value of $26 compared to McClouth with 606 points and a value of $18. It appears McClouth has more value than Ellsbury. Should I go by the points or $ values?
We’re still getting the kinks out of that new on-line tool. Don’t worry about the points. Worry about the dollar values.
